Lisa Levine has been designing jewelry forever it seems like. She first got her long for jewelry when she found her grandmother’s jewelry box and since then, she has become ever-so-creative and absolutely loves designing all sorts of new and fresh pieces of jewelry. When I saw this beautiful Medusa brass cuff, well, I was over the freakin’ moon just because it is so funky, so chic and so stylish, that is demands all sorts of attention!
It is extremely rare in this day and age to find a designer that not only knows exactly how to create something beautiful, but a designer that actually knows exactly what she is doing. That is what Winifred Grace Gundeck is all about. This chick has been designing jewelry for quite some time now and while her degree is in Graphic Design, she has taken up jewelry making full-time as of 2003. Her first inspirations were from all sorts of different and vibrant textures as well as some patterns found in nature and some art designs and tapestries.
Louis Vuitton – he is one guy that I swear I would love to own everything that he designs or even just live in his head for a little while. He is absolutely one of the oldest fashion designers in the world and I think that he has been creating things … forever really. The Louis Vuitton Fashion House has been around for quite a while and I have to say that when I found out that jewelry was involved … well, I was all over that!
If there is one thing that I know, it is going to be jewelry. For example, have you guys seen the latest from Gorjana Reidel? This chick is going places, first she was creative in the knitting field and now, she is creative in the jewelry world. Now, you might not realize it, but this girly makes all of her own jewelry and she makes it to reflect her own lifestyle and personality. That is exactly why I love her – she has not switched gears since she became popular either, which is unheard of for most designers.
Watches are an ageless thing. There are so many watches out there and so many different designs, I think that while people believe that watches are going to go out of style and eventually people are going to stop making them … that is not the truth. Let me clue you in – people like things that they can pass down from generation to generation and that is exactly what you can do with a watch. I just got a watch passed down from my grandmother and it was beautiful!
In this day and age, it is very difficult to find a designer of jewelry that is multi-talented. That is exactly what Dana Lorenza is to me, multi-talented. Not only has she been able to design for the big names like Gucci, but she has also been featured in all sorts of different magazines such as Vogue, Lucky, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and The NY Times and that is just the beginning of her talents!
Earrings are something that I do not wear a lot and certainly something that many people do not really think about a lot of the time. However, when it comes to finding a very good pair of earrings, it can be quite a difficult if you really have no idea what you are in the market for. The array of jewelry available, especially in the earring department can be completely overwhelming! Well, this one designer Kris Nations is absolutely incredible when molding earrings.
One thing that I have noticed about Michelle Roy is the fact that this incredible designer began her work in the 90’s when she was just twining some silk flowers to a baseball cap for her goddaughter – nowadays, Michelle has branched right out. She opened up her business for hair accessories in 2000 and that was just the beginning of her career! Her flower hair accessories were actually worn by all sorts of different celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Drew Barrymore and Demi Moore.
If there is one jewelry trend that I have noticed this summer just grow and grow, it is going to be the black diamond ring. To be honest, I have always thought that the black diamond is something that is absolutely beautiful to look at and something that is so different and so unique; it really does take a special person to wear a black diamonds. What you might not know about this beautiful stones is that they are all natural diamonds that have been treated.
Now, I know that we have talked a lot about rings in this particular blog, but there is one ring that I wanted to touch on specifically and it is the Citrine ring. While most people think that this color is something less-than-desirable, there is something that you should know about this hue. Firstly, while bright, this particular color is actually not all that bright when you pair it with your skin tone. So while it might seem bright in the picture, it isn’t as bad as it looks.
